Unseen

By Camille Cooley

You cry in the dark, waiting for me to rein your fears.

But I was never there.

Unseen you remain to be.

You wait to call my name until I turn to face you.

But I never did.

Unseen you remain to be.

You whimper for help, needing guidance.

But I was not there to support.

Unseen you remain to be.

I whisper for help in a quiet room, alone with my thoughts in fear of what they will bring.

But you never came.

Unseen to all,

Unseen to most,

Unseen I remain to be.
